Our Team

We are a team of South Sudanese researchers who are based in Juba, as well as in rural and urban areas across South Sudan, including in areas controlled by different warring parties. Members of our research team live in and research from Central Equatoria, Jonglei, Unity, Upper Nile, Warrap, Western Equatoria, Eastern Equatoria and Lakes States.

We all have our own stories. The majority of us have experienced armed conflict and displacement first hand. Most of us have worked for UN agencies, international NGOs or national NGOs. Lots of us were educated in refugee camps in East Africa or at schools across South Sudan. We came together for the first time in order to work with international academics based at LSE. We worked together on projects at LSE for five years, and this cemented our resolve to take ownership of our research and to expand our work beyond these initial partnerships.
